Life is hard, running is a struggle, fighting brain cancer is draining, pushing a 6 year old in stroller is challenging, running a marathon is exhausting, winning a marathon is over-the-top… now do all of them in the same three hours. Iram Leon did just that.

In November 2010 Iram leon was diagnosed with brain cancer and was told by his doctors that they will try to keep him alive to see 40. As a result of his tumors and condition Leon, 32, is not allowed to drive a car and unable to perform many other daily functions. But, he could still run. Always a runner, he realized his time with his daughter Kiana, 6, was of the utmost importance and decided he wouldn’t run anymore without her. That started a trend of runs, organized and not, with Kiana in a stroller in front.

On March 9, the Gusher Marathon in Beaumont, Texas made an exception for him and allowed him to run with Kiana in a stroller. Not only did Iram and Kiana cross the finish line, they were the first!
